What is a Compassion In Action Sponsor?

Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere, hit severely by recent national disasters and years of civil war and unrest.  Many of the children in this country are undernourished and few have educational opportunities.  Your decision to partner with Compassion In Action through a sponsorship committment will help provide a child with an education, nutritious food and access to medical attention. Most important, a sponsored child will be shown the love of Christ and will grow up learning how to serve Him and to serve others.

When you begin a sponsorship with CinA we apply your sponsorship toward the cost of educating all of the students.  If, however, you would like to start sponsorship of a selected student (or teacher) please indicate so on your sponsorship request and our sponsorship coordinator will help you through the process.

What does a child receive through my sponsorship?

They will learn about Jesus Christ. Bible instruction is part of the core curriculum so each child has an opportunity to learn how they can trust and follow Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Education. Each child has the opportunity to learn and develop their higher level thinking skills in the areas of math, language arts, social studies, music, art and science.  Classroom sizes are small compared to the overcrowded public schools in Nicaragua where there may be as many as 80 students per classroom.

Nutritious meal.  Every child is given a well balanced school lunch each day.  For some, this may be the only meal he or she will recieve that day.

School supplies.  Each child receives a set of school supplies to function well in school as well as a school uniform, socks and a pair of shoes.

Physical Care.  Each child will be given periodic medical examinations including vision screening and dental check ups.  Medical teams visting from the United States or reputable medical staff in Nicaragua provide this quality care.

Sponsor A Teacher

Providing an education for students would not be possible without quality, qualified teachers and administrative staff.  Our teachers, staff and other workers at DCA are loving individuals committed to the students and mission of our school.

For $100 per month you can impact the lives of any one of our many teachers or staff members.  Perhaps you have a heart for pre-school, math, science or Bible studies.  Adult lives are also impacted by Compassion in Action through these employment opportunities and you would be amazed at the stories.

Your sponsorship can be directed toward the school directors, teaching staff, librarian, cooks, janitors and property guards.  Your sponsorship will help to pay for on-going training, materials and other supplies that are vital to any educational environment.
